Soldier, 15 others rescued from Boko Haram terrorists in Borno

The Borno State Police Command has said that it’s officers have rescued a soldier and fifteen other travelers from the hands of Boko Haram terrorists. The victims were rescued by a team of policemen who were said to be patrolling Maiduguri-Damaturu road, yesterday before the incident occurred. The soldier, a Lance Corporal, is said to be attached to 4 Battalion, Marte. Secretary to the State Government SSG in Niger State, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has confirmed the killing of sixteen persons by gunmen at a mosque in the early hours of Monday. Gunmen have abducted many students and teachers of the College of Agriculture in the Bakura Local Government Area of Zamfara state. Sources said that a police officer and three security officials of the institution were also killed by the gunmen.
