DISTRICT KHYBER:In the first incident, unknown gunmen shot dead a local resident in Landikotal bazaar and fled from the scene, police said on Monday.
Addtional Station House Officer Azmat Wali Shinwari and assistant subinspector Ayaz Khan Shinwari told this scribe that an unidentified man entered a hotel owned by the deceased and fired bullets with rilfe gun. They said the owner of the hotel identified as Rahmat seriously injured. He was rushed to district Headquarters hospital in Landikotal but could not survived. As the incident happened police led by addtional SHO Azmat Wali Shinwari rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. He said they have launched search operation in limits and would soon arrest the killer. Police officer Ayaz said they were working on the case and soon FIR would be registered. However, till filing to this report no arrest was made. Police said the reason behind the killing of man was family dispute.
Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen shot dead a young man Ghani Khan was kidnapped two days before. A local journalist said that Ghani Afridi, was a poor man running a shop in Bara. He said according to his family they had no enmity with anyone. The journalist confirmed that bullet riddled body had been dumped in a deserted place in Bara.
Residents asked the authorities to investigate the target killing happening in district Khyber and provide peace and protection to citizens.
