NIN: Beware of fake NIMC officials registering students in Anambra schools – Commissioner warns Principals

Anambra State government has warned Principals of schools in the state to be wary of certain groups of individuals going round schools registering students for the National Identification Number (NIN).

Commissioner for Education, Prof Ngozi Chuma-Udeh who gave the warning in a statement described such groups as illegal and their registration as unauthorized, stressing that National Identification Number (NIMC) remained the only center authorized to register anybody for the NIN.

She also advised students wishing to be registered for the NIN to visit the nearest NIMC for the exercise, while Principals who have already received the group should report immediately to her office to ascertain the extent of his/her involvement.

The statement reads, “It has come to the information of the Anambra State Ministry of Education, that some people are going round schools registering students for the National Identification Number.

“All Principals are hereby informed that the group is illegal and their registrations are unauthorized.  

“Any student wishing to be registered for the National Identification Number should visit the nearest National Identification Management Center for the exercise. 

“NIMC is the only center authorized to register anybody for the National Identification Number.

“Principals who have received the group are advised to report immediately for the office of Madam Commissioner to know the extent of his/her involvement.”
