Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has disclosed that he wished to live above hundred years, after which God can call him to heaven.
The 83 year old said this in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, at the first year coronation anniversary of the Agura of Gbagura, Oba Sabur Bakare, Jamolu II.
Oba Bakare received his staff of office on May 21, 2019, from former governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as the 9th Agura of Gbagura.
The ex-President joined other guests on Tuesday, at an interdenominational service organised to mark the celebration.
He said, “I will be here to celebrate your 20 years anniversary with you whether I am invited or not.”
Obasanjo added that God can take his life after fulfilling the dream.
“By the time I partake in celebrating your 20th anniversary with you, if God wishes he can call me to come and meet him in heaven because I know by that time, I will be above 100 years.”
The former president while advising the monarch, urged him to use his office to promote unity among Yoruba traditional rulers.
