Nnewi community honours Anambra CP, others for crime fighting

Commissioner of Police in Anambra state, John Abang, Area Commander Nnewi ACP Sunday Irek, DPO CPS Nnewi CSP Nnamdi Anabike and DPO Otolo Division CSP Hassan Lawal have been honoured for exhibiting selfless service in promoting safety and security in Nnewi, the industrial city of the state.

The officers were rewarded by the community through the Chief Executive Officer of Innoson Group, Chief Innocent Chukwuma together with Others including Divisional crime officers Nnewi and Otolo Divisions as well as Unit Commanders SARS and Special Anti-cult.

Officers drawn from other security agencies in the State comprising DSS, Civil Defence, FRSC and local vigilante group were also recognized.

Speaking at the palace of HRH Igwe K.O.N Orizu III, Chukwuma said the recognition was part of efforts by the community to show appreciation and boost the morale of the law enforcement officials in the State.

Responding on behalf of the award recipients, CP Abang thanked the traditional ruler and organisers for recognizing their efforts towards promoting safety and security in the State.

He further promised to work for greater peace and security in Anambra State and beyond.

Important dignitaries who graced the occasion included former Governor of Anambra State Her Excellency Dame Virgy Etiaba, Chief Dr Chukwuma Innoson,(Chairman and CEO INNOSON Motors) Chief Engr Dan Ulasi.

Also present were Obi of Uruagu,Obi Afam Obi,Obi of Umudim,Obi Beneth Okafor, Obi of Nnewichi, Obi George Onyekaba and PG Nnewi Sir Ugochukwu Udemezie, among others.
