DISTRICT KHYBER: Islamic Relief Pakistan distributed food vouchers in Landikotal on Monday.
Islamic Relief program manager Sara javed told The News that they have started a three-day Food Voucher Programme in Landikotal and upper Tirah valley for those who had newly returned to their homes.
She said food voucher programme was implemented globally tested programme to address the needs of food insecurity and nutrition for the marginalised and most vulnerable communities.
Sara Javed said more then 400 families mostly widows were selected in first phase to assist them with food vouchers. She said market assessment have also been carried out to check the daily usage of necessary food items and trends in the area. She said they also cross checked the availability of the necessary food items in the market.
Sara said each family would get the voucher of Rs,9000 for each four times.Adding that this was the first food voucher dustribution by Islamic Relief Pakistan in district Khyber.Those received food vouchers appreciated the efforts of Islamic Relief Pakistan with a remark that this programme would bring them ease in ongoing inflation.
