…the defendant allegedly stole a cash of N10,000,000.00, property of United Parcel Services (UPS)
A man, Folarin Ajayi, who was accused of stealing N10,000,000.00 from United Parcel Services (UPS), has been arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ogba, in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
The suspect allegedly stole N10m from the company located in the Gbagada area of Lagos State.
Ajayi, who was arraigned before Magistrate O Obasa, is facing one-count bordering on theft preferred against him by the police.
The police, Inspector Cletus Monjok, told the court that the defendant committed the offence in the Meiran area of the state.
According to the prosecutor, the offence committed is punishable under Section 287(3) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.
The charge read, “That you, Folarin Ajayi, between 2021 to February 2023, at United Parcel Service (UPS), Gbagada, Lagos, within the Ikeja Magisterial District, did steal a cash of N10,000,000.00 only property of United Parcel Services (UPS) and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 200 and punishable under Section 287 (3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.”
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
Magistrate E. Kubenje granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with two responsible sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till April 5, 2023, for mention.
