The Governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has unveiled the Statue of Late Chief Paul Ururuka, the ex-Minister of Works in the old Eastern Region.
Ururuka served under the government of former Premier of the Eastern Region, Dr. Michael Okpara
The DAILY VENDOR gathered that the former minister was instrumental to all Infrastructural developments in the region.
It was also gathered that under his administration as the works minister that towns like Enugu, Port Harcourt, Umuahia, Calabar, Ikot Ekpene, etc, were developed.
The statue, mighty in nature, is located at the Obikabia Junction where five roads meet namely, Ururuka Road, Obikabia – Umuene Road, Ukaegbu Road, Ehere/Umuola Roads and Omoba Road.
The five roads were reconstructed by Governor Ikpeazu’s administration lately, reports say.
