A 3-storey building has been gutted by fire at No 64 Venn Road by Sanish Onitsha, Anambra State.
The inferno which occurred around 9.46pm on Tuesday, destroyed goods, including flasks in the warehouses located at the ground floors of the building.
The cause of the fire is unknown as at time of filing the report.
State Fire Chief, Engr Martin Agbili confirmed the incident, saying no life was lost in the inferno.
He said quick response of his men saved several other buildings around the fire incident scene.
He said, “At about 2146hrs (9.46pm) of 08-08-2023, Anambra State Fire Service, received a distress call of fire outbreak of a 3 storey building at No 64 Venn Road by Sanish Onitsha. The ground floors were used as warehouses.
“Immediately, we deployed our fire trucks and our diligent firefighters to the scene of fire.
“The cause of the fire is unknown and no life was lost.
“The fire partly affected the building and affected the goods at the ground floor as many flask in the warehouse were destroyed.
“Finally, we were able to control and extinguish the fire, and save the building and many other buildings around the fire incident scene.”
