Anambra biz community jubilates as ACCESS bank inuagurates branch in Awka

It was jubilation galore in Awka, Anambra state on Monday following the inauguration of a new branch of Access Bank, Plc in Awka, Anambra state.

Executive Director, Retail Banking Division, Access Bank Plc, Mr. Victor Etuokwu during the inauguration, said the decision to set up a new branch in the capital city, the 26th in the state was to bring banking closer to customers for safer, faster and easier transactions.

Etuokwu, represented by the South East Regional Sales Director, Mr Charles Oguibe advised customers to key into digital channels for monetary transactions as one of the precautionary measures against the novel COVID-19.

He explained that digital financial services was part of efforts to ensure physical distancing to curtail the spread of the pandemic.

He urged customers to take advantage of the of the numerous products of the bank, assuring of more commitment to effective and efficient service delivery.

He said, said, “We believe in the safety of our customers, especially during this pandemic, hence we encourage everyone to transact digitally via USSD code – *901# or Access more app or the ATM.

“Customers can bank from anywhere by utilising digital channels to easily access their bank accounts, make payments, transfer funds, process salaries and carry out other banking transactions without visiting branches.

“Access bank has never been stronger with a growing customer base of over 36million people and trusted corporate partnerships, the bank has only grown stronger with a bigger capacity to serve you more.

“Your deposits are safe and you can continue to rely on for the same service delivery and even more.”

Traditional ruler of Awka Kingdom, Dr Gibson Nwosu commeded the bank for the initiative, said the presence of monarchs at the event was a demonstration of the seriousness they attached to banking business.

Represented by traditional Prime Minister of Awka Kingdom, High Chief Benjamin Okoye expressed optimism that the new branch would further promote rural development, enhance productive activities and improve economic status of small-scale businesses.

“We have confidence in your services and urge you to continue to contribute to the growth and development of the host community,” he added.

Also speaking, Managing Director, Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency, Mr Jude Emecheta urged the bank to initiate loan product to help business owners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
