Foreign fabrics seized at Torkham

…The Daily Vendor learnt that foreign fabrics were hidden inside a coal loaded truck

TORKHAM:  Pakistan customs and Frontier Corps(FC) personnel in a joint action foiled a bid to smuggle foreign fabrics worth million of rupees at Torkham border crossing,officials said on Sunday.

Collector customs inforcement Khyber Pakhinkhwa Amjadur Rehman told reporters that acting on a credible information they stopped a truck carrrying registeration (KBL-3546) as it entered Pakistan from Afghanistan via Torkham border.

 He said the coal loaded truck was searched and recovered foreign origin suiting fabrics of 3575 kilograms.He said the value of seized garments is Rs11.1 million in open market.The cloth rolls were concealed under the heap of coal in the truck.

Custom authorities also seized the truck and arrested the driver.First Information Report(FIR). 

Journalist stage protest rally: Journalists staged protest rally st the front of Landikotal press club and chanted slogans against the PTI leader and Medical Superintendent(MS). They demanded of the government to probe the incident and bring the culprits into justuce. Speaking on the occasion Landikotal press club president Khalil Jabran afridi said that government should protect the life of journamists. He said impunity against journalists growing gradually which was a serious concern. 

Later, journalists from district Khyber held a meeting and asked the PTI leader in Hangu and MS in Bajaur district to apologise for their harsh attitude against journalists.
