…said Government must rise up to the occasion by rejigging Nigeria’s security architecture
Pentecostal Ministers in Anambra State on Sunday stated that Nigeria is seriously sick in all aspects.
The clerics, under the umbrella of Anambra Indigenous Pentecostal Ministers Association (AIPMA) said immediate intervention is required to salvage the nation to restore it back to its past glory.
In a communiqué issued after its International Prayer Conference held in Oraukwu, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State signed by its Chairman, Archbishop Mayor Mike Chukwudum and Secretary, Rev. Dr. Chukwuemeka Okafor, the body urged government and political leaders to rise up and prevent the nation from further drift.
The communique partly reads, “It is pathetic and regrettable to observe that the country has never been so divided, disunited and unsafe as it is presently.
“The high rising issue of lopsided political appointments, civil service, security services, sharing of national cake as well as unending strikes, closure of educational institutions, among others.
“Nigeria nation has sadly become a bloody and most terrorized state which had led many of its citizens to lose faith in the ability of government to protect them.
“It’s no longer safe to travel to any part of country by road, air or sea. It is equally no longer safe at home, schools, hospitals, markets and work places.
“Criminality, kidnappings, banditries and all manners of blood wastage is booming to the detriment of the lives of innocent Nigerians, all hands must be on deck to salvage the country.
“Government must rise up to the occasion by rejigging the country’s security architecture to protect its citizens.”
On the recent redesigning of Nigeria currency, the body said it welcomed the move, expressing optimism that it would bring good tidings to Nigeria.
“Nobody, including the government should be above the law; government should pay due respect to the rule of law by respecting court orders. The judiciary should live up to its expectation of being actually the last hope of the common man.
Reacting on the 2023 general elections, the body stressed that all hands must be on deck to ensure that righteous people were enthroned.
It charged women and youths in particular to appreciate that their future is in their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), urging Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to do anything that would derail future of Nigerians electorates by ensuring objectively in the conduct of their duties.
The association further underscored the place of prayers in the lives of Christians, calling on Christians to earnestly pray for the Lord to show mercy to the nation’s politics, politicians, economy, systems and institutions.
“Traditional rulers, kings and leaders of various christians organizations should be involved in governance and poliltics. They should dissuade Christian youths from idolatry, wickedness, abominable acts and ungodly actions,” it said.
