KHYBER: Two persons were killed while a number of houses reported partially damaged and few fully destroyed due to heavy down pour and flash flood in various areas of Landikotal tehsil on Saturday.
Assistant commissioner of Landikotal Irshad Ali Mohmand told this scribe that flash floods and heavy rain havoc devastations in Mukhtarkhel,Khyber,Mirdadkhel,Shalman and Pasedkhel villages in Landikotal. He said around ten houses have been so far confirmed partially damaged and few rooms comoletely destroyed in flash floods.
He said two bodies were also recovered from flood water in Loey Shalman and Charbagh Pasedkhel village in Landikotal.
Meanwhile, a heavey container truck and a passengers van were also washed away by flood.
Reports from Loey Shalman said that standing corps on hundreds of acres of land was also destroyed in flash flood.
Passengers in taxi cabs were stucked on the Pak-Afghan highway for three hours due to flood water that had cross over the main road at various places in district Khyber.
Police and district administration jointly conducted rescue and clearance operation and reopened the Peshawar-Torkham road for traffic.
