Three final year students of the Department of Mass Communication, Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area, with two others have died in an accident after their final examinations.
It was learnt that the accident occurred on Monday around 12noon along Issele-Azagba-Ogwashi-Uku Road.
It was gathered that the deceased, two females and a male, died on the Isselle-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku Road allegedly on their way to a ‘graduation party’.
The accident involved a commercial tricycle and a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
It was learnt they wrote their final papers on Friday and were joined by other friends for the party about 8pm when the accident happened.
The female students died immediately while the male, who was unconscious, died on Sunday.
Police spokesperson Onome Onovwakpoyeya confirmed the incident.
“The two occupants of the Toyota Camry also died in the ghastly motor accident. The two female victims were HND students from the Mass Communications Department of the polytechnic, while we have yet to get the identity of the male student,” the source added.
