Stop Illegal billboards and advertisements, ANSAA warns Agencies

Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, has said that it will no longer condole any form of illegal and arbitrary erection of billboards in the state.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of ANSAA, Sir Jude Emecheta, gave this warning while exchanging views with newsmen in Awka during the routine removal of illegal billboards by his agency.

The CEO noted that many of the illegal bill boards violate safety rules and standards, thus posing serious danger to the citizenry especially motorists whose views are misled most times.

He also stressed that such billboards pose a great assault to the aesthetic landscape of the state while emphasizing that the action of his agency was in line with its statutory responsibilities.

Adding that advertising agencies must seek the approval of the signage and advertising agency for proper documentation and appropriate placements of billboards and
banners.

The ANSAA Chairman also called on the citizenry to always adhere strictly with the rules and regulations guiding pasting and prompt removal of posters and banners.

He equally frowned at the activities of illegal advertising agencies and fake practitioners, who by their actions sabotage the internally
revenue generating efforts by the agency.
