… Governor Obaseki may return to APC
The (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress has approved that Senator Abiola Ajimobi the immediate past governor of Oyo State of South West Nigeria takes over as acting Chairman of the party owing the Appeal Court decision to upheld the suspension of the Party’s National Chairman,Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by an FCT High Court pending the determination of the substantive suit.
According to the National Publicity Secretary of the party Mallam Lanre Issa- Onilu ,” guided by advice from the Party’s legal department in line with the provisions of Section 14.2. (iii) of the Party’s constitution, the Deputy National Chairman (South), Sen. Abiola Ajimobi will serve as the Party’s Acting National Chairman”.
According to him, Section 14.2. (iii),of the APC constitution, states that the Deputy National Chairman, North/South “Shall act as the National Chairman in the absence of the National Chairman from his zone”.
Meanwhile the Director General of Voice of Nigeria and a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Mr. Osita Okechukwu has described the Court of Appeal judgement upholding the suspension of the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole as a vindication of his position and ” good riddance to bad rubbish”
Reacting to the appellate court order, Okechukwu in a statement titled “Is a Daniel come to judgement?” in Abuja on Tuesday June 16 2020 states that ” It is good riddance to bad rubbish. He was playing God. One is vindicated, as I had maintained that Comrade Adams was no more a valid chairman of our great party””
He said “That out of narcissism he glossed over his valid suspension by his ward executive and with culture of impunity failed to adhere to the provisions of APC Constitution. A man who lost his ward, LGA and State Exco has no reason to remain chairman”
The VON DG said. “The good thing is that his suspension will afford a golden opportunity for the leadership of our party to overhaul and reposition our great party along the core progressive tenets, as we enshrined during merger in our constitution.
He said if the party had reviewed the performance of Adams after the 2019 General Elections like a company will do will reveal that he has failed woefully.
In a related development The DAILY VENDOR News was reliably informed that there are subtile moves to placate Governor Godwin Obaseki and his team who announced their withdrawal from the party to return back to the party .
Our sources said the party governorship ticket will be given to him once an agreement is reached.
