We’ll increase collaboration with FRSC to reduce road crashes in Anambra – NSCDC

The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has pledged improved collaboration with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in stemming the tide of road traffic crashes across the state.

State Commandant, Mr. Osuala Edwin made the pledge during a courtesy visit to the Sector Commander, FRSC, Mr. Adeoye Irelewuyi at the FRSC Command Headquarters, Awka.

Describing NSCDC and FRSC as partners in the business of saving lives and property, Osuala said the visit was not just to familiarize with the Sector Commander, but for stakeholders to collaborate and support FRSC in its bid to curb road crashes.

He said, “Sequel to my deployment to Anambra State, it is customary and mark of respect, I pay courtesy visit to all the existing service commanders in the state.

“My coming here today is to familiarize with you, strengthen the existing cordial relationship between us and pledge my support to your office in any area you may need our services.

“Safety is everyone’s business, especially on our roads. Therefore, as sister agencies, we would continue to partner to ensure safety of road users.”

Responding, FRSC Sector Commander Adeoye expressed delight for the visit, saying it would solidify the existing working relationship between the two Federal Agencies.

He acknowledged the FRSC assistance to the NSCDC, especially in providing necessary materials and data involving owners of vehicles involved in crime to facilitate its investigation.

He expressed optimism that the love, collaboration and synergy between the two agencies would continue to be outstanding in maintaining standards on road safety management.

While enumerating some of his ongoing activities in partnership with sister security agencies, Irelewuyi praised the contributions of NSCDC for the overall success of safer road campaigns in the state.
