The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced the death of a 45-year-old Nigerian man who returned from India following COVID19-related complications in Lagos State.
The Commissioner for Health in the state, Prof. Akin Abayomi, made this known on his Twitter handle on Tuesday, THE DAILY VENDOR reports.
Abayomi said, “No new case of #COVID-19 was confirmed in Lagos on 20th April, 2020. However, #COVID19 related deaths were recorded in Lagos.
“One of the deceased was a 45 years old Nigerian male who returned from India in January, 2020.”
NCDC had on Monday announced that 38 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Nigeria to 665.
Breakdown of cases by states: Lagos 376, FCT 89, Kano 59, Osun 20, Oyo 16, Edo 15, Ogun 12, Kwara 9, Katsina 12, Bauchi 7, Kaduna 9, Akwa Ibom 9, Delta 4, Ekiti 4, Ondo 3, Enugu 2, Rivers 2, Niger 2, Benue 1, Anambra 1, Borno 3, Jigawa 2, Abia 2, Gombe 5, and Sokoto 1.”
