My husband’s abductors no longer reachable – NURTW chieftain’s wife

Jemila Ali, wife of the Nigeria Union of Road Transport Workers chieftain, Kazeem Ali, kidnapped in Apomu, Osun State, has said her husband’s abductors are no longer reaching out to his family.

While speaking with newsmen on Wednesday, Mrs Ali, said the phone number used to contact the family could no longer be reached.

The Osun State Police Command had said Ali was attacked with machete by some hoodlums around Oke Alfa, Apomu, late Saturday, and was taken to an undisclosed location by the assailants.

A source close to the family of the NURTW boss also said his abductors were demanding a sum of N15m from his family for his release.

But during a telephone interview with newsmen, Jemila said, “The number used to contact us was no longer connecting.
“They are not talking to us and we are unable to also talk to him (Ali).”

The Police Public Relations Officer, of the state, Yemisi Opalola, could not be reached for comment as of the time of filing this report.
