Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youths Wing has called on youths in the Southeast to unite and restore the lost glory of the region for better future.
National leader, Mazi Chukwuma Okpalaezeukwu gave the advise in a chat with newsmen in Awka, Anambra State.
He also urged them to resist temptation of falling prey to the tricks of the enemies of Ndigbo who could take advantage of their gullibility to cause civil unrest in the area.
He noted that Igbo youths were known for intelligence, entrepreneurial spirit and resilience, urging them to fight for the peace and stability of the region.
He said, “Some mischief makers and enemies of Ndigbo are using some gullible minds to cause civil unrest targeted at disabilizing once bubbling economic activities of the zone.
“But you must be wary and vehemently refuse to fall for such gimmicks.
“We need to liaise with the entire Ohaneze Ndigbo and other like-minded individuals to fight for the restoration of peace, progress and stability of the region.
“Under my watch and with the support of Ohaneze Ndigbo under the leadership of Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and Southeast governors, youths restiveness will be nipped in the bud.
“We’re happy with the harmonious relationship existing among Southeast governors which will help in stabilising the region and fast-track economic growth and development of the zone.”
The youth leader revealed plans by the body to converge a security summit for youths in the zone where they would be addressed by security experts and opportunities created for cross fertilization of ideas on how to end the insecurity impasse in the area.
