Lagos Pastor remanded for defiling, impregnating two sisters

A Lagos State based pastor, Nduka Anyanwu, has been arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Yaba, by the Lagos State Police Command, on Wednesday, for allegedly defiling and impregnating two sisters.

The suspect was alleged to have slept with the sisters, aged 17 and 13, on several occasions and eventually impregnated both of them.

Anyanwu was arraigned on two counts bordering on defilement before Chief Magistrate A. Adedayo.

The pastor however pleaded guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Roman Unuigbe, told the court that the suspect committed the offences sometime in June 2020 at a church complex in the Oshodi area of the state under the pretext of conducting prayers for the victims.

Mother of the victims, The DAILY VENDOR learnt, had tried to prevent police operatives from arresting the defendant on the grounds that he was a man of God.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate Adedayo ordered the defendant to be remanded in custody and adjourned the case till September 15, 2020, for presentation of facts and sentencing.
