The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum, has approved the appointment of Professor Isa Hussaini Marte as his new Chief of Staff.
Announcing the appointment on Wednesday evening, spokesman of the Governor, Malam Isa Gusau, said the appointment will fill the vacuum left by the Governor’s late Chief of Staff, Dr. Babagana Wakil, who passed on July 1, 2020.
The new Chief of Staff, Gusau said, a serving commissioner in the governor’s cabinet, will hand over to Dr. Babagana Mustapha Mallumbe, whose ministry will now be Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
Gusau stated: “Zulum’s choice of Marte is in recognition of his proven capacity, strong passion for development and unbending principles that align with the governor’s, and above all, his proven integrity.”
The new Chief of Staff is a Professor of Pharmacology, with specialty in cancer research. Also a fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science.
He will be sworn-in by Governor Zulum on Monday, August 17, 2020.
