Information reaching us has it that, Sir T. C Okere, a onetime director general of the Imo State Broadcasting Corperation, IBC Owerri, has allegedly stabbed his wife to death in the early hours of today, Monday 25th May 2020.
A source close to the family told The DAILY VENDOR that the couple have been married for over fifty years now, and both are retired from service.
Sir Okere was said to have worked and retired from IBC, while his late wife worked and retired from the Imo State polytechnic Umuagwuo.
The source said the man stabbed his wife eight times, but however added that the former DG had developed a psychiatric ailment, which may be reason for his strange action.
The source further disclosed that “Okere’s second son who died sometime ago is yet to be buried, his corpse is still in the mortuary, to be buried by June.
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ikeokwu Orlando confirmed the incident to our correspondent but said investigation is still ongoing.
