A commercial motorcyclist was on Sunday crushed to death by a church bus along Ihiala- Onitsha road, Anambra State.
The accident which occurred around 4pm, near FRSC office, involved a Ford bus belonging to Catholic Watchman and a motorcycle.
The Nation gathered that the driver of the bus reportedly lost control due to excessive speed resulting to the fatal crash.
Confirming the incident, Ag. Sector Public Education Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Kamal Musa said the deceased was deposited at the mortuary after he was confirmed dead by doctors in the hospital.
He said, “One male adult was killed in a Fatal Road Traffic Crash which occurred after FRSC Office in Ihiala, along Ihiala- Onitsha road at about 1500hrs, today Sunday 30 August, 2020.
“The crash involved a Ford bus belonging to Catholic Watchman, with registration number RLU 440 KM and a yellow Twinco motorcycle with registration number URU 006 VC.
“A total of Twelve (12) people (6) Male adults, (6) female adults, were involved. One (1) male adult and (1) female adult sustained varying degrees of injury and were rushed to Our lady of Lourdes hospital Ihiala and deceased was deposited at the Obijason mortuary after he was confirmed dead by the Doctors in the hospital.
“FRSC rescue team from Ihiala Unit Command are on ground to ensure free flow of traffic while the obstruction is being cleared.
“The Sector Commander, FRSC, Andrew Kumapayi while sending his condolences to the deceased family strongly warns drivers against over speeding and all forms of dangerous driving.”
