President Muhammadu Buhari will address Nigerians on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm, according to a statement by his spokesman.
14 days after the protests that have seen the death of dozens of Nigerian youths, the President is set to address the nation tonight.
The President is expected to address the situation even as tension is still high.
The Special Adviser to the president on Media and publicity said the address is as a result of the detailed reports to the president by the security chiefs and the address will be aired on state-owned media.
“Following detailed briefing by security chiefs on the current situation in the country, President Muhammadu Buhari will make a national broadcast Thursday, October 22, 2020 at 7pm.
“Television, radio and other electronic media outlets are enjoined to hook up to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria respectively for the broadcast.”
