In line with Governor Chuƙwuma Soludo’s Urban Renewal Agenda and in relentless pursuit of a thriving and prosperous Community, the transition Committee Chairman of Orumba South Local Government Area, Prince Neville Sunday Uchendu on Friday embarked on a massive campaign to sensitize the entire residents, shops and business owners in Orumba South Communities on government expectations to ensure Orumba South stands out as one of the best local government area in the State.
The exercise which was ably led by the Orumba South TC Chairman, had Former Anambra State Deputy Governor, Corps Members, Town Union Executives, Youth Representatives, Okada Union Members, Security Personnels, Market Union Leaders and other Principal State Actors in attendance began with a road match from the Council Headquarters down to Round-about, then to the popular Nkwo Umunze market all in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
Speaking at the market square during the exercise, the Orumba South Mayor, Prince S. N Uchendu underscored the importance of environmental cleanliness and safety of streets, markets and drainages to enhance the beauty of the Council Area thus, attracting more of the Governor’s attention and that of prominent individuals who will not only delight in investing heavily in the council area but also contribute to the revitalization of economy of the zone, thus paving the way for a more eco-friendly and economically sustainable future for all.
According to him, one of the cardinal objectives of the Soludo administration is to build a sustainable, livable and prosperous smart mega homeland to aid rapid growth and development of the State, hence the need to support the hard working Anambra State Governor to achieve the dream of making Anambra the indeed the light of the Nation.
Prince Uchendu reiterated the council’s intention of creating a rather more conducive and safe environment for both residents, traders and vehicular movement and caution against indiscriminate dumping of refuse on drainages and waterways, thus blocking free flow of water and causing severe health and environmental hazard with unpleasant smells from improperly disposed organic waste.
He further urge the Youths to key into Governor Soludo’s Youth Empowerment Programs for personal development to become good citizens and worthy ambassadors of their family and community.
While appreciating the Anambra State Governor for his exceptional love for the people of Orumba South Council Area, Prince Uchendu further tasked the youths to shun drug abuse and other social vices which impede their personal growth and development and that of the entire community.
He called on all to continue to support the Prof Chukwuma Soludo led administration succeed in delivery the dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra.
Also speaking, a one time Deputy Governor of Anambra State, His Excellency, Engr. Emeka Sibeudu while affirming the relevance of the strategic exercise in repositioning the Council Area to key into the major pillars of the present administration such as – security, law and order, infrastructure and economic development, human capital development and creation of a sustainable environment to benefit from the incoming wave of more transformative development initiatives and projects from the Anambra State Governor.
While emphasizing importance of setting the right stage for the desired future characterized by peace, security, progress, sustainability and lasting prosperity, Engr. Sibeudu also harped on critical focus of the initiative which include road rehabilitation, erosion control, and essential task of desilting drainage systems to fortify communities against both human and environmental challenges.
He charged for a holistic approach and commitment to the actualization of the objective to ensure overall development of Orumba South Local Government And the State in general.
He applauded Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s visionary leadership model which according to him translates from promises into tangible physical results, thus standing as a tribute to the redefining trajectory of the present administration.
Engr. Sibeudu further commended Prince Uchendu for his phenomenal role as Orumba South TC Chairman and also for bringing to the table foresight, charisma, and influence, making him a proactive and pragmatic leader who is determined to deliver good governance to his people at the grassroots level.
