Anambra man traces way home after 24 years in Imo prison

An ex-convict, Sunday Ogbuo was reportedly found attempting to trace his way to his home after spending 24years in the Nigerian Correctional Service in Imo State.

Ogbuo, a native of Umuochuba Agba, Ekwulobia, in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State was said to have forgotten the way to his hometown after his release from the facility.

A trending video on social media showed Ogbuo being interviewed by some individuals who spotted him looking stranded at a junction in the area in  attempt to trace his way.

Narrating his ordeal, the visibly hungry-looking young man said he was imprisoned in Imo State since 1999, but was just released from the prison on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, by human rights lawyers.

“We were 16 of us who were released today by Human Right lawyers. They discharged us today.

“I started looking for my way back to my hometown, Ekwulobia in Anambra State, before I met some good Samaritans,” he said.

The spirited individuals, in the video, pledged to sponsor his transportation down to Ekwulobia roundabout, with the believe that people who knew him might recognize him and help re-unite him to his family.
