Man Claiming Enugu Airport Land Has No Court Judgement – Reps

A Member Representing Enugu East/isi-uzo constituency in the Hoise of Reps Hon Cornelius Nnaji, has spoken, challenging Arc. John Emejulu to make public the judgment he claims he has making it the first time since the land issues at Airport Layout.

Emejulu was told by Nnaji, a son of the soil of Nike, the host community of the Enugu Airport to produce the Survey plan attached to the judgment he claims he has.

Hon. Nnaji, is a former Enugu East Local Government Chairman who has severally been accused by Emejulu of trying to take over his estate, told newsmen that it is time to open up.

The people’s representative in the House of Reps said he is pained, not because Emejulu pulled down the perimeter fence of the airport, but that he demolished houses and property of other poor Nigerians who has no voice.

Hear him; “I want to state that there has never been a time JJ Emejulu owns a property at that Airport layout.

“The area we are talking about is Airport road extension layout and was owned by people and registered in 1984.

“I don’t know if you can have a layout on top of an existing layout. There was already an existing layout there. I wonder from which layout he is claiming. He mentioned Airport road layout phase 4 and 5, my concern is that we need to see the licence of those who differentiated Airport road extension and Airport road layout 4 and 5.

” I want to say it categorically that J.J Emejulu doesn’t own a land in that place.

“Secondly, the area we are talking is Airport road extension which I know the government took over for extension of Akanu Ibiam Int’l Airport and by virtue of land act, government owns every land. So, that land in question doesn’t belong to Emejulu that can warrant him going there to destroy government properties which all of us condemned in it’s entirety.

“He doesn’t have any court judgement. If he has a court judgement, he should produce the court judgement. Why is he hiding the judgement. Every court judgement has a surveyor plan and a document attached to it. That has been my question from the beginning.

‘Nobody is arguing about court judgement, yes he may have a court judgement but let him produce the judgement that has the relevant surveyor plan to the land in question.

“A proper surveyor plan of the judgement will explain to us which one belong to him.

“The point is that everybody knows that government took over that land in question for over riding public interest which everybody from this area including me supported.

“All these started when I was the council chairman of Enugu East and my problem with him was that I told him, he doesn’t own any land there. Because already, there is an existing layout, owned by our late father Nnaji family. The layout belong to Nnaji family not Emejulu.

“As chairman then, I tried to maintain peace in all land issues, and I kept telling him, J.J you don’t have a land in that place. It is very simple and that is why he kept mentioning my name. He doesn’t have a land there. I can say it anywhere that he doesn’t have a land there.

“Let him provide the documents and I can provide counter documents to prove to him that he doesn’t have a land there and going there to destroy government properties with the effort of our Governor, Rt, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is making to make sure the Airport meets Int’l standard is wrong.

“Let him provide the surveyor plan that leads to that acclaimed court judgement.

“Let him provide the documents/that gave him the effrontery to be claiming the land and surveyor plan he used to get the court judgement for people to know the truth.

I am certified with what I saw during the inspection. The rehabilitation of runway is almost completed. The major thing is that the Hon, minister reassured the Airport will be reopened by 30th of August, 2020. That gives joy to everything, despite the demolition of ongoing perimeter fence of the Airport by Arch John Emejulu. It is a good new to everyone that the Airport will be open by 30th of August.

“Nobody from my community is happy with what happened. Everybody here condemned the act. Emejulu didn’t end only in government property, he went ahead and demolished people’s property. He demolished people’s structures at this critical period. People’s buildings were demolished there by JJ Emejulu.

“We are not only talking about the perimeter fence of the Airport, people’s buildings were demolished and this is not the first time he is demolishing people’s buildings. It is not only the perimeter fence, there are other less privileged people he demolished their.

“These people are from my constituency and I must speak for them.”
