A yet-to-be identified man was on Saturday caught vandalizing popular Peez Supermarket at Aroma junction, Awka, Anambra State .
This was coming weeks after three parks, Ekwulobia Urban Mass, Star Sunny and TRACAS were reportedly robbed within the area.
An eye witness said the robbery took place between 7 to 8am, adding that it was the second time within two weeks.
“They robbed both the travelling passengers and the driver. Goods meant for waybill, laptops, phones and a boy with 250k cash were robbed.
“Store owners weren’t left out too. “They were heavily armed with guns and dangerous weapons and someone was stabbed at the process
“They conducted this operation between 7-8am. It was a successful one, they weren’t repelled, they left joyfully. This is the second time in about two weeks,” he said.
The suspect who vandalised Peez supermarket was said to be caught red-handed by passersby.
An eyewitness said, “The young man was caught early Saturday October 28, 2023 morning vandalizing Peez Supermarket, Aroma, Awka.
“He was tied to the electric pole with hands at the back. Crime in Aroma axis is becoming something else these days.”
Street urchins had several occasions, burgled offices in the area and made away with valuables, as well as attacked POS operators with huge sums of money taken away from them.
Meanwhile, the B-Division of the Anambra Police Command is just a stone’s throw from the scenes of these crimes.
