Implement c’ttee findings in Isuaniocha crisis – Victims beg Soludo

…noting that recommendations by the committee would restore the desired peace in Isuaniocha

Isuaniocha community in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State has called on Governor Chukwuma Soludo intervene in the internal crisis rocking the community

The community asked the governor to go through the findings and recommendations made by a committee set up by previous administration in the state

Former President General of Isuaniocha, Chief Tony Onyeagolu, in a press briefing on Friday regretted the destruction of property by hoodlums who claimed to be local security operatives, saying many lives were lost in the five years old crisis.

He said implemention of the Certified True Copy of the recommendations by the committee would restore the desired peace in the area.

“Both the mansion of my elder brothers, family ancestral homes and business outlet, were all destroyed and entire property carted away by the same people who Nigeria Police had declared wanted.

“While some of the perpetrators are already in prison, some are still in the community, molesting innocent residents and selling lands and property not belonging to them,” he said.

Onyeagolu attributed his refusal to partake in the sell of Community Secondary School land by one Mr Ccosmos Okonkwor as major reason behind the crisis.

“Former Special Adviser to the administration of Chief Willie Obiano and present Commissioner for Homeland Affairs, Mr Chikodi Anara were instrumental to the unending issues for partaking in the buying of the said school land and afterwards encouraging some youths to go on rampage against all those who stood on their way,” he alleged.

The Isuaniocha Community leader advised developers to be wary about buying and acquiring lands in the area, stressing that many land grabbers and their agents were in the habit of selling and reselling portions of lands to unsuspecting members of the public.

While appealing for urgent intervention to ending the lingering crises, Onyeagolu said the family was willing to embrace initiatives aimed at providing concrete and lasting peace in the community.
