Managing Director of Awka Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Osita Onuko has urged government, relevant Agencies and well meaning NdiAnambra, to harness human capital potentials in young people to shift their minds from drug abuse and other societal vices.
Onuko spoke on the occasion of the private award-giving ceremony by the ASATU Youth Wing, who marked their annual youth summit, at the Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, recently.
The ACTDA boss who is also the Convener of the Soludo Ambassadors, was conferred a ‘Patron of the Anambra Youth Award’.
Describing youths as bedrock of the society, and if properly trained, would yield uncommon fruits for Nigeria in general and Anambra State in particular, Onuko promised to work assiduously in uplifting youths in the state at all times.
National Coordinator of the Soludo Ambassadors, High Chief Obayor Nwachukwu, who received the award on behalf of Onuko, extolled the work done by the ASATU Youth Wing and encouraged them to do more for the young people of the state.
Also speaking, ASATU youth President, Comrade Ken Okoli, described the ACTDA boss as an epitome of youthfulness and a beacon of light, urging him to continue the good works he has been doing for Anambra youths.
He expressed confidence that ASATU Youth Wings would be established in all the states of Nigeria, and in all countries of the world before the end of 2024.
The event featured presentation of a plaque and a book to Hon. Ossy Onuko.
