Anambra State government has assured the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) of necessary support to ease its operations, including provision of watertight security for a peaceful State.

Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu gave the assurance on Thursday while hosting newly posted NSCDC State Commandant, Olatunde Maku in his office.

He welcomed the Commandant to the State and charged him to work closely with the Security Trust Fund office, other security agencies as well as stakeholders for the overall interest of the State.

Appreciating the NSCDC boss and his team for their relentless efforts in contributing greatly to the peace and security of the State amidst challenges in line of duty, SSG expressed optimism of successful tenure with the support of Government and people of the State.

Earlier, NSCDC Commandant said the visit was to appreciate government’s support so far as well as solicit for more provision of operational assistance in ensuring safety and security of the people of the state.

“I’m here to familiarize myself and appreciate the State Government for the support so far, and in the same vein solicit  for more provision of operational assistance to the command in ensuring the safety and security of the good people of Anambra.

“I’m grateful for the warm reception accorded me since my arrival to the state as the 17th substantive State Commandant of NSCDC,” he said.

Maku pledged commitment to duty with his knowledge of the terrain and workings of the state having served before now as Second in command in the Operations Department.
