Customs Officials Hold Meeting With Traders

TORKHAM: Pakistan customs officials and other stakeholders held a meeting at Torkham border and discussed various trade related issues,officials sourcess said on Monday.

Additional collector custom Muhammad Rizwan, addtional director transit Athar,Col, Bilal Yousif,General manager National Logistic Cell Col,(R)Aziz,Col, Sattar,federal deputy secretary of trade and commrace Mian Abdul Qadir Shah, addtional collector Ashfaq Ahmad,addtional secretary foreign security Wing Muhammad Tariq,Home departpment coordinator Kalimullah Khan,additional secretary health FIA director Yasir Arafat, frontier custom agent Ziaul Haq Sarhadi,Khyber chamber of commerace president Jawad Hussain Kazmi and Torkham custom clearance association representatives also participated in the meeting. 

   The meeting thoroughly discussed trade related issues with Afghanistan. Custom officials said they had to remove the hurdles and constraints to increase export via Torkham border. They said slow clearance process and traffic issues were the main causes that had to be addressed. 

All the stakeholder agreed to jointly work and facilitate traders and transporters so that they could smoothly transport import and export goods from and to Afghanistan via Torkham border.

Collector custom Muhammad Ashfaq assured the traders that they would resolve their issues on the priority basis.Traders and exporters thanked officials especially Pakistan customs for their keen intetest to provide best possible facilitied at Torkham border to increase the export valume with Afghanistan and central Asian states.
