LANDIKOTAL: To maintain the security situation in district Khyber, the firstever command and control centre inaugurated in Jamrud tehsil of district Khyber on Tuesday.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police(IGP) Akhar Hayat Khan and Capital City Police(CCPO)Sayed Ishfaq Anwar formally inaugurated the newly established command and control centre.
Command and control centre would monitor all the CCTV cameras installed on all entry and exit routs in Khyber district to protect life and properties of citizens.
Speaking on the occasion district police officer Salim Abbas Kalachi said that they were completely implementing the IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa vision to provide best possible protected environment to public. He said they have installed a large number of CCTV cameras in Bazaars and other sensitive locations.
DPO Khyber briefed IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and CCPO at command and control centre established in Traffic headquarters in Shakas in Jamrud. DPO Khyber said the command and control center would operate round the clock where 128 CCTV cameras installed in police stations,police check posts,DPO office and traffic headquarters are contacted with the command and control centre via Internet service.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police Akhtar Hayat Khan said that the establishment of command and control centre would help reduce crimes and would help police and law enforcement agencies to reach to the hands behind the crimes. He said the CCTV cameras would also help in running flow of traffic in district Khyber.
Akhtar Hayat Khan said it was a good step taken in district Khyber which was the firstever command and control centre in newly merged Tribal districts. He issued directives to police officials concern to also establish command and control centres in the rest of the tribal districts so that law and order could be maintained properly.
Later, IGP also inaugurated Bars police ststion snd a women informarion disk in district Khyber.
Akhtar Hayat Khan said that women police would be posted in all police stations in Khyber district where they could easily address women issues. He said police department would provide all necessary equipments and tools for best policing so that safety of the general public could be ensured.
