Anambra lawmakers, TC chairmen, PGs, others jittery as group vows to scrutinize roles

The Igbos For Progressive And United Nationhood (IPAN) has called on political and community leaders in the Southeast, with a specific focus on Anambra State to actively fulfill their responsibilities, including playing pivotal role in delivering tangible benefits to their communities.

National President, Chief Lawrence Onuzulike gave the charge in a statement tagged, “Why TC chairmen, Town Union PGs and other public office holders in Anambra State must sit up” and signed by Media Head/Secretary, Engr. Ozuah Nnamdi.

He disclosed plans by the group to commence scrutinizing the works of all the Transition Committee chairmen, Presidents General, House Of Assembly members, with a view to reporting their progress to Anambra people.

Acknowledging visible efforts by some leaders, the IPAN boss expressed appreciation for public officers actively contributing to local development.

He said, “The urgent need for leaders to actively fulfill their responsibilities, playing a pivotal role in delivering tangible benefits to their communities cannot be over-emphasised.

“We affirm our commitment to regularly appraise public office holders, aiming to enhance transparency and accountability in governance.

“We will start from now to scrutinize the works of all the TC chairmen, PGs, House Of Assembly members, and report their progress to Anambra people.

IPAN aims to set a standard for excellence among leaders in order to inspire a culture of recognition for exemplary public service, 

Underscoring the importance of collaboration between leaders and citizens,

Onuzulike emphasized the shared responsibility for regional development.

“IPAN remains steadfast in its dedication to fostering positive change among the Igbo people through ongoing assessments and support,” he added.
