2 die in Anambra road accident

Two persons have reportedly died in a lone accident that occurred on Saturday at about 7.00pm at Obiuno Road, Ekwulobia, Anambra State.

The Public Education Officer of FRSC in the state, Florence N.Edor(SRC) revealed this in a press release.

She noted that an unidentified driver of a Lexus ES350 car with registration number KSF 403 GD was responsible for the fatal crash in which a total of four persons were involved in the crash compressing two male adults and two female adults.

Eyewitness account according to Edor indicated that the driver was on a top speed and lost control, knocked down two women crossing the road and crashed into a building by the side of the road.

One male and a female adult she noted sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to Apex hospital Igboukwu, while the driver of the accidented vehicle and one female adult were confirmed dead by the doctor on duty, and their body deposited at Apex Mortuary by a good Samaritan before the arrival of FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Command.

Meanwhile, the Anambra State Sector Commander of FRSC, Andrew A Kumapayi(CC) has wished the injured quick recovery and aw well sent his condolence to the family of the dead victims.

Kumapayi enjoined drivers to desist from overspeeding but apply the recommended speed limit of 50km/hrs in built up areas.

He also advice pedestrians to be watchful while using the road to avoid being knocked down by reckless drivers.
