Pakistan’s Geological experts visit Torkham landslide site

Deputy Commissioner of Khyber says the geological experts would soon present their report

TORKHAM: On the directives of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif a five member geological survey of Pakistan team visited Torkham border and inspected the landsliding site, officials said on Monday. 

Deputy Commissioner of Khyber Abdul Nasir Khan said that the geolgical experts would soon present report of the Torkham landsliding to pirme minister of Pakiatan. 

Abdul Nasir Khan said the geological survey team was led by director geological survey of Pakistan Saman Saddiq. He said the team collected samples and 1 findings of Torkham landslide happened twice in one week.  

“The team will assess the current situation of the hill that slided twice in one week and will give report to Prime Minister”,said deputy commissioner Abdul Basir Khan. He added that 
It may be added here that a huge landslided happened last week in Torkham in which eight people were killed while more than 25 loaded containers were burried under the heap of landsliging. 
Rescue operation was continued on eight day of landslided in Torkham border. 

The governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali and Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan had also visited the landsliding site where they pleged to compensate the trucks owners and those who lost their lives bit so far the government yet not announced compensation officially.
