Nigeria’s problems’ll vanish if everybody embraces peace, unity – Obi

An Asaba based Civil Engineer, Emmanuel Chiderah Obi has urged political and traditional leaders to pursue anything that would ensure peace and tranquility in the country.

He said Nigeria’s problems would vanish if everybody would maintain peace and come together in unity.

Obi bagged a prestigious Peace Award “Ambassador for World Peace” from UN PEPOLAC one of the Subsidiary Organizations of the United Nations with Senator representing Anambra Central, Chief Victor Umeh.

He expressed worry over growing killings, destructions, robberies especially violent ones, poverty, corruption in governance in Nigeria, attributing the vices to lack of peace and love among Nigerians.

He called on Nigerians to learn to be patriotic, tolerant, love of each other and fear of God, stressing that “if these factors are strictly kept to the letter, the country will overcome whatever obstacles she is currently facing.”

Earlier, International Coordinator of UN PEPOLAC for Anambra State, Rev. Ozioma Ozoemena and Director Crisis, Conflicts and Dispute Resolution of the organization in the state, Bishop Dr. Mike Chukwudum admonished the awardees to be good ambassadors of United Nations by ensuring they continue promoting peace wherever they find themselves.

They said Obi, a native of Umunze in Orumba South Local Government Area of the state was honoured on account of his fruitful peace moves in his community, state and work place which has resulted in enthronement of harmony, tranquility and peace in Nigeria.
