LANDIKOTAL:Torkham custom appraisment force foiled a bid to smuggle a cape of narcotics and ammunition to Pakistan and arrested the afghan national, officials said on Saturday.
Custom official Mujaid Khan said on a tip off shared by custom collector appraisment Peshawar they stopped a loaded truck(KBL3447)as it entered Pakistan from Afghanistan via Torkham border. He said truck was loaded with soapstone being imported from Afghanistan.
Mujahid said during search they recovered 8.48 million rupees Crystal Methamphetamine (Ice drug) and magazines and bullet rounds concealed under the soap stone.He said the truck worth 5 million and soap stone worth 1.1 million rupees were also impounded. He said total worth of the seizure was 84.8 million rupees in open market. Driver Jalal Khan was arrested and case registered against him.
