Anambra pupil triumphs at Chuma-Udeh Spelling Bee Competition

Master Delight Okeke, a pupil from Holy Ghost International School Umudioka, Awka, Anambra State emerged as the victor at the recently concluded 3rd Annual Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh Spelling Bee Competition. 

The competiton held in Awka witnessed spirited participation from 120 students representing 23 private and public primary schools across the state.

Addressing the gathering, chairman of the occasion, Dr. Ikechukwu Asika showered praise on Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh for her dedication in organizing the annual competition, recognizing it as a significant contribution to the educational development of Anambra students. 

He highlighted the competition’s role in providing valuable academic exposure to participants.

Describing Prof. Ngozi Chuma Udeh as an unwavering advocate for education, Dr. Ikechukwu emphasized her perfect fit as the Anambra State Commissioner for Education. 

He equally urged the competing pupils to glean intrinsic values from the competition, promoting independence, teamwork, and the spirit of sportsmanship.

Rev. Father Emmanuel Odoh, in his remarks, encouraged teachers to persist in nurturing the young minds under their care, emphasizing that their current sacrifices are shaping an illustrious future. 

Mr. Leo Ewuziem, Chairman of the Nigerian Guild of Actors, Anambra State Chapter, commended the students for their remarkable confidence, predicting a bright future for the state with such intelligent young minds.

The presentation of the coveted trophy to the winner Master Delight Okeke of Holy Ghost International School, Umudioka, Awka was the high light of the event. 

Runner-ups were also recognized with consolation prizes, marking the end  of a memorable celebration of academic excellence and promising potential.
