YPP senatorial candidate sympathizes with flood victims

‘The YPP candidate appealed to the federal and state governments to rise to the rescue of the affected communities’

The Young Progressive Party (YPP) senatorial candidate for Anambra central district, Dr Chinedu Anthony Umeadi has sympathized with the victims of flood disaster in the state.

Dr Umeadi expressed shock at the level of devastation at Ugbene, Ugbenu, Obaofemmili in Awka North LGA and International Building Materials Market, Ogidi in Idemili North LGA of the state where flood menace has taken over their homes, destroyed businesses and properties worth billions of naira.

The Anambra Central YPP senatorial hopeful noted that the rampaging flooding has rendered the people of the affected communities homeless while sending some of the victims out of business.

He appealed to the federal government and Anambra State government to rise to the rescue of the affected communities and markets within Anambra Central senatorial district by providing succour to the victims as well as finding a lasting solution to the ugly situation to forestall a reoccurrence in the future.

Dr Umeadi also noted that members of the National Assembly and State Assembly who are from the zone have a lot of contributions to make towards cushioning the excruciating effects of the ravaging flood on the Anambra Central indigenes.

He said all hands must be on the deck to help return the victims to their normal lives and businesses within the nearest possible time.
