People of Egwuedu community in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State have called on Traditional rulers in the state to close ranks and work with the State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma to ensure unprecedented growth and development of the state.
They said the success of the Governor depended on their support and that of their subjects being the custodians of the communities.
Speaking on Wednesday in Onitsha through their President General, Chief Eric Uwaoma, the people further urged the monarchs to work in harmony to ensue that peace reigned among them in the state.
He said, “On behalf of myself and the good people of Egwuedu and Mbaoma Autonomous community, I urge the Imo State Council of Traditional to close ranks and work with the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma for the interest of the people of the state.
“We thank Governor Uzodinma for remembering and recognizing that honest people should be given positions of trust. We also urge the traditional rulers in the state to work with him to ensure the success and progress of the entire state.”
Uwaoma further praised the governor for appointing Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okeke, Eze Udo II of Amaifeke Ancient Kingdom Orlu, as the Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers.
He also hailed him for appointing Eze Philip Uzodinma, the Onanaenyi of Oru Omuma Autonomous Community, Oru East Council Area as the treasurer of the traditional rulers in the state.
