World Cup Exit: England coach faces uncertain future

…England had lost to France in the quarter final stage

Following the exit of England in the World Cup holding in Qatar, Gareth Southgate’s future as the manager of the team is uncertain.

Though England lost to France in the quarter final stage, the English team was however not disgraced.

It is expected that the Football Association will do everything within their power to persuade Gareth Southgate to continue as England manager.

The 52-year-old has been in charge of the Three Lions for six years.

However, following their World Cup exit in the hands of France, Southgate revealed he would take time to look at his options.

His comments have raised concerns at the FA that he is ready to quit.

FA technical director, John McDermott, is expected to play a key role in those discussions, which will be crucial to Southgate’s future.

Both men have a close relationship, and McDermott is eager to secure Southgate’s future until at least Euro 2024.

But there is a feeling Southgate is seriously considering calling it quits.

Mauricio Pochettino and Thomas Tuchel would also be keen on the job, but it is unclear whether the FA would even consider another overseas coach.
