Woman who beat man for raping her 11-year old daughter detained by Police in Anambra

A middle-aged woman has been allegedly brutalized and detained for reportedly beating a 22-year old man accused of raping her daughter in Obosi, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The victim was said to have dragged the suspected rapist inside a vehicle with the help of neighbors and taken to the police station in the area.

The suspect’s uncle, who was said to have stormed the police station after being informed of the incident, had threatened to use his political connection to frustrate the woman and close the case.

Narrating her ordeal at the police station after being granted bail, the victim said, “As soon as the uncle to the suspect arrived the station, he dialled a number and gave the phone to one of the police officers.

“After receiving series of calls, they immediately dragged me inside and locked me up. In the process, my cloth was torn and two of my little children who wanted to protect me from the brutal attack were severely beaten.

“That was not all. I also received a slap from another policeman.”

It was however gathered that medical examinations conducted on the 11-year old girl confirmed that there was penetration.

A group of human Rights activists have vowed to organise a protest as well as put up a petition to the office of the Commissioner of Police for justice.
