Wife of Imo Police Commissioner doles out cash, food items to indigent POWA members

The Wife of the Imo state Commissioner of Police and the Chairperson Police Officers Wife Association (POWA), Mrs Abimbola Akinmoyede on Saturday empowered thirty two widows, indigent women and victims of ENDSARS protest at the Police Officers Mess Owerri .

The POWA Chairperson said she was motivated by the neglect suffered by the families of policemen who lost their lives in the course of duty.and also to assist some of the victims of the violence that greeted the protest.

She further urged them to make good use of the items recieved, and ensure that they contribute possibly in the well being of their various families.

Some of the items the POWA Chairperson in Imo State made available to her indigent members include; Fridges/Freezers, Pop corn machines, Ovens, Grinding machines, Sewing machines and Cash.

The CPs wife used the occasion to call on Police High command to improve on the payment of gratuities to police retirees.

The Commissioner of Police, Imo state, CP Isaac O.Akinmoyede who was speaking during the empowerment program charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the items and ensure that the essence of this gesture is not defeated.

A beneficiary, Mrs Deborah Emmanuel thanked the POWA Chairperson for her humanitarian gesture and pray God to bless her.
