The Kaduna state APC led-Governor Nasir Ahmed El-rufai has disclosed that mobile networks will soon be suspend in some parts of the state, pointing out that this is part of measures to tackle the menace of insecurity the state is facing.
Monitored yesterday night in an Hausa media chat with local-based radio stations in the state, El-rufai explained that kidnappers and other perpetrators of high profile crime rely heavily on the GSM network to perpetuate their illicit acts.
He further explained that the areas that will be affected are those areas where the crimes are being perpetrated as well as those areas sharing borders with Zamfara and Katsina States where the current onslaught against the bandits is being carried out.
He maintained that as soon as military authorities give us the go-ahead the network will be suspended.
El-rufai then said that security reports have indicated that because of the ongoing military operations in Zamfara and Katsina States, bandits are now crossing over to some areas in the state for safety.
