Again new feathers were added to the crown of the Indian State West Bengal. In 100 days of work, Bengal achieved first place in Government of India’s project of Mission Nirmal Bangla (Clean Bengal). This time, the ‘Banglar Bari’ (The Houses of Bengal) project topped the rating of the Union Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India.
The West Bengal state government has been informed of this success by the Union Ministry of Urban Development of India.
According to the Ministry of Urban Development, the success rate of this housing scheme at West Bengal is 97.45 percent. Mamata Banerjee’s West Bengal has left BJP-ruled Gujarat state far behind.
The cost of building a house in this project in urban areas is 3 lakh 6 thousand rupees. Of which the central government gives one and a half lakh rupees and the state government gives 1 lakh 93 thousand rupees. West Bengal is paying the highest money for this project in the country.
This is followed by Orissa. The Orissa government gave 1 lakh 8 thousand rupees to build a house. There, the BJP-ruled states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh pays only one lakh rupees.
According to the estimates given by the central government, most of the houses have been built in West Bengal in this project. This process maintains transparency. According to the statistics provided by the center, a total of 3 lakh 25 thousand 996 applications were received. Among them 3 lakh 18 thousand 72 applications have been accepted.
The Daily Vendor Newspaper however learnt that the success rate is 98.45 percent. It is followed by Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Chhattisgarh.
In this regard, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, the Bengal Home Project is the first in the country. We have made many people’s home. However, in the future, the house will be surveyed with drones before building. It will be easier to identify the houses already roofed and those still without a roof. This is again a great success of the West Bengal state government.
