…the weapons were discovered after a customs appraisement staff stopped a truck at Torkham border

LANDIKOTAL: Pakistan Customs at Torkham border foiled a bid to smuggle weapons from Afghanistan, officials said on Monday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Customs chief collector spokesman Sohail Khan told The Daily Vendor that on the basis of credible information customs appraisement staff stopped a truck (KBL-2572) at the border.

He said they recovered 31 Turkish-made 12 Bore Rifles,524 bullets rounds of 12 Bore, 11 butts of 12 Bore Rifles.

They weapons were concealed in the truck headen cavities. He said the estimated worth of the confescated arms was Rs4 million in open market. FIR lodged and for further investigation.
