Six persons were reportedly dead in Nzam in Anambra West local government area of Anambra State.
The deceased, including children were said to be fleeing their homes to safer grounds when their were swept away by the deluge.
A viral video showed the deceased being carried out from the flood by residents of the area, while sympathizers wailed helplessly.
A voice in the background said, “This is Nzam in Anambra West. These children with their mother were running away from the flood in the night and were consumed by the same flood.
“God please have mercy on this innocent boys and girls with their mother.”
