US Weapons seized in Pakistan

PAKISTAN: Pakistan customs authorities on Friday foiled an attempt to smuggle US-made weapon from Afghanistan and arrested the culprit, officials said.

Pakistan custom official, custom enforcement collector Peshawar Malik Kamran Azam Khan told The Daily Vendor that on the basis of tip off they stopped a truck(EA-7876) at the custom checking point near Mattani road in Peshawar and recovered 28 M-16 US-made automatic rifles from the hidden cavities of the truck.

 He said the weapons had been smuggled from Afghanistan and tried to transport it to Peshawar city. He said worth of the seized weapons in the market was around 30 million Pakistani rupees. He said driver identified as Said Muhammad,afghan national was arrested and FIR lodged against him. The truck was also took into custody, he added.
